Building the Future of Cannabis Consulting: MJstack Financially Backed By Delta Emerald

As a dispensary, your business is your passion. You want to be focused on your customers’ needs and happiness.

And you likely know how important process and procedure are for a successful operation, how essential technology is to actually meeting those customer needs.

But chances are you don’t have the time to know every new and emerging technology solution out there. How could you? With over a dozen different cannabis technology verticals that each have upwards of 10 or more different technology solution providers all competing for your attention, it’s overwhelming.

You need a trusted partner. Someone with your best interests in mind. Someone to help reliably guide you in the right direction with clear recommendations and insights on how to help your business soar without breaking the bank.

That’s MJstack. That’s our promise.

With a goal of providing even more value to our dispensary clients, we’re honored today to announce that we’re financially backed by the industry-leading cannabis investing partners at Delta Emerald Ventures. This could not be a prouder moment for us.

The Vision

The MJstack founding team both come from an enterprise technology background. As a result we were very privy to the nuances and also the technological challenges of running a modern day business. Antiquated software systems no longer serve the modern day entrepreneur. Operating a business has become a complicated web of various systems and solutions that must properly communicate with each other in order to stay relevant in a competitive marketplace.

And then you look at the cannabis industry: One of the hottest emerging markets of the last decade; an industry powered by technology startups that is expected to be worth $73.6 billion globally by 2027.

cannabis market growth

Yet business owners are struggling. They’re fighting an uphill battle against cultural stigmas and rigorous state-specific as well as federal regulations. Until we see federal legalization, there are many legal and operating factors to consider that make running a successful dispensary that much harder.

When we found ourselves yet again working together in the cannatech industry, talking to dispensaries every day, we realized that there was this huge piece of the puzzle missing for them. We saw both technology veterans competing to enter a space they hadn’t taken the time to fully understand, and scrappy cannabis entrepreneurs pushing products to market that weren’t yet fully functioning.

Neither were doing it completely right, and as a result, the dispensary owners were left struggling to find solutions that could keep up with these operational and regulatory demands.

There had to be a much easier way to lift that burden for them when it came to finding the right technology vendors for their unique cannabis operations.

We needed a source of truth. Someone who understood both sides of the coin and could objectively evaluate these technologies and bring a fresh perspective to the cannabis space.

The Market Opportunity

Who better to execute on this idea than us? And so in late 2020 MJstack was born.

It is our mission to help take the burden off cannabis owners and operators who know that the tech stack is essential to their business, but may need guidance or direction when evaluating different cannatech vendors.

As your gatekeeper, our free vendor-agnostic cannabis consulting service insulates you from the chaos of fielding multiple vendor calls to pair your dispensary with the right tech partners who can help you achieve your business goals.

It is our goal to simplify and streamline the vendor evaluation process for our clients. Our team brings personalized advice across your full cannabis tech stack — from cultivation and compliance to POS and payments to CRM/loyalty and website/SEO, and more.

We always have our pulse on emerging cannabis industry trends so that we can always provide you with key market trends and insights that will guide your business in the right direction.

And it’s incredible how well this concept has been received. In just one year, we’ve had over 120 cannabis technology vendors join our partner ecosystem, we’ve helped more than 300 dispensaries find the right solutions for their businesses and we’ve recommended over 400 partner solutions to our clients.

The Future of Cannabis Consulting

As we head into 2022 and beyond, the growth continues. Not only did we recently launch our brand new website, but today we are excited to join Delta Emerald’s portfolio of cannabis technology leaders building the future.

One of the leading cannabis technology investment firms, Delta Emerald bought into our vision immediately and have become valuable financial partners for us as we continue to expand the horizons of what MJstack can do for our customers and for the industry at large.

We are not here to play small.

“As cannabis technology investors, we believe that software can help small business owners make more money,” said Ian Dominguez, Portfolio Manager of  Delta Emerald. “But a fragmented industry means there is no ‘one size fits all’ technology solution; we believe MJstack’s team of experts provide much-needed curation and sharing of best practices in cannabis technology implementation.”

MJstack provides a cash-efficient, low marginal cost, and complementary sales channel for the cannabis technology ecosystem. Not unlike Switzerland or Consumer Reports, but instead of political or consumer neutrality, MJstack offers the curation and sharing of best practices for cannabis technology implementation

With this strategic financial backing, we can immediately add headcount, allowing us to connect even more dispensaries with the right cannabis technology vendors and accelerate our long-term vision at a much faster pace.

We’re focused on building a new category of technology cannabis consulting. We see ourselves as the industry analysts that can deliver market insights and intelligence to help set the tone for growth and responsibility in this massive market. It’s about holding cannabis technology providers accountable and supporting dispensaries with the knowledge and insights they need to build everlasting partnerships with vendors that drive mutual success.

We want to thank the Delta Emerald team for their support and continued partnership. We look forward to seeing all that 2022 has in store for MJstack.

As we embark on this journey, we have only one question. . . who is coming with us?

Cheers,
Brian and Adam
